Africa
Most migrants to Australia from Africa arrived fairly recently. Small numbers, particularly from Sudan and Tanzania started arriving from the 1960s, but most have arrived after 1991 with an increase from 2001.
Many people coming to Australia from Africa have arrived as humanitarian entrants, but others have come as skilled migrants. These communities include people from:
- Democratic Republic of the Congo
- Ethiopia
- Eritrea
- Kenya
- Liberia
- Somalia
- Sudan
- Tanzania
